工作坊旨在發現隱藏於淡水河的各種紋理並探討擁有河堤防的社會和都市空間之關係的發展。堤防的存在對於台北市具有什麼重要性？堤防與河流和城市的關係為何？都市市民於過去至今使用它的方式有何轉變？如：河堤的功能之轉型，視覺樣貌的開發？是否有某些層次與元素已消失？若有，那會是什麼？ 引導大眾對這些問題的思考。
The workshop aims to discover the Hidden Tamsui Patterns. At how the socials- and spatial relations developed of the dike of the Tamsui River in Taipei. Why is it there? How have they been used in the past and how are they used today; the way they function, the visual language they have developed, are there layers of use that have been erased and if so, which? How does the dike look like in relation to the river and the urban hub? All in order to speculate and formulate the design question of this safety network: the dike!
