Alien and its sequels are filled with several moral dilemmas that provide an opportunity to gain insight into people's motivations, and the way they rationalize them. Is it ethical to kill the Alien? Would you work for an obviously evil organization? What would you be willing to do to survive? These are just a few of the ethical questions that we will discuss as we explore the dark horror of Alien.
This class is all about critical thinking. The first step is to review the evidence -- the film in this instance -- so you can form an ethical stance. Then we go into detail, discussing the film and seeing whether or not the evidence supports your stance.
Understanding people's different priorities and the experiences through which they are filtered is a skill that transcends language and culture. Empathy is the basis of human civilization and in this course we will entertain empathetic extremes as we search for a deeper understanding of the human condition, and ultimately ourselves. You are who you are in the dark...and in the cold darkness of space, no-one can hear you scream.

Alien is a 1979 British-American science-fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott, it received both critical acclaim and box office success, without any doubt, it has remained highly praised and popular in decades, being considered one of the greatest films of all time.
Class 2 Aliens
Aliens is a 1986 American military science fiction action horror film written and directed by James Cameron, The film follows Ellen Ripley as she returns to the planet where her crew encountered the hostile Alien creature. Aliens grossed $180 million worldwide. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
Class 3 Prometheus
Prometheus (/prəˈmiːθɪəs/) is a 2012 American science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott. It is set in the late 21st century and centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as it follows a star map discovered among the artifacts of several ancient Earth cultures.
